Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Minecraft Index ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Minecraft Index is not affiliated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft Corporation.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to create an account.
  • One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans or restrictions is prohibited.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You are liable for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must verify your email address before listing a server.

3. Server Listings

  • Servers you list must be real, publicly accessible Minecraft servers.
  • Server information (name, IP address, description, tags) must be accurate and not misleading.
  • Servers may not advertise or facilitate illegal activity, hate speech, or content prohibited by applicable law.
  • We reserve the right to remove any listing at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including violation of these terms.

4. Voting

  • Voting is limited to one vote per IP address per 24-hour period per server. This limit is enforced server-side.
  • Automated voting, vote farming, vote manipulation, or any attempt to artificially inflate vote counts is prohibited and may result in account termination.

5. Gold Membership

Plans

Gold is available as a monthly subscription ($4.99/month) or a one-time 30-day purchase ($4.99). Both are processed via Stripe. By purchasing Gold, you also agree to Stripe’s Terms of Service.

Duration & Access

  • Subscription: Renews every 30 days. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current 30-day period.
  • One-time purchase: Grants 30 days of Gold access from the date of purchase. Non-refundable.
  • Gold access expires automatically at the end of the period. Server tags exceeding the free allowance may be trimmed on expiry.

Features

Active Gold members receive:

  • Up to 5 server listings (vs. 1 for free accounts)
  • Gold badge displayed on all server listings
  • 2 daily bumps per server (vs. 1)
  • 6 months of player history in the dashboard (vs. 30 days)
  • CSV export of player stats
  • Up to 7 server tags (vs. 2)
  • Ability to favorite up to 5 servers
  • Priority listing above free-tier servers at the same vote count
  • Ability to mark servers as hiring staff
  • Priority support

Redemption Codes

  • Redemption codes are tied to the account that redeems them and are non-transferable.
  • Each code may only be redeemed once per account. Codes cannot be applied to an account that already has active Gold.

6. Sponsored Slots: Auction Terms

Sponsored slots are sold via a bi-monthly public auction. By placing a bid, you agree to all of the following terms.

Auction Schedule

  • Two auctions are held each month: one for the 1st–14th slot period, one for the 15th–28th slot period.
  • Each slot is live on the Minecraft Index homepage for 14 days.

Bidding

  • You must be logged in with a verified server to place a bid.
  • The minimum bid is $1.00 USD.
  • All bids are public and visible to all users on the leaderboard in real time.
  • Bids are final. Once a bid is placed, it cannot be withdrawn or reduced. You may raise your bid at any time while the auction is open.
  • Only one bid per server per auction is permitted.
  • The top 5 bids at auction close win sponsored slots. Higher bids earn higher-ranked positions on the homepage.
  • Bids that do not reach the top 5 are placed on a reserve list. Reserve bidders may receive a slot offer if a top bidder fails to pay.

Payment

  • Winners must pay within 24 hours of auction close. Payment instructions are sent to the email address on your account.
  • Payment is processed via Stripe. Credit and debit cards only. No other payment methods are accepted.
  • Failure to pay within the payment window will result in a permanent ban from all future auctions.
  • Two payment failures on any account trigger an automatic permanent ban.
  • If a winning bidder does not pay, their slot is offered to the next eligible reserve bidder, who then has until the second-chance deadline to pay.
  • All payments are non-refundable once a slot goes live.

Slot Conduct

  • Sponsored slots are subject to the same server listing rules in Section 3. We reserve the right to remove a sponsored slot for violations of these terms without refund.
  • We reserve the right to refuse any bid or cancel any auction at our discretion.
  • Winners are permitted to transfer or resell their slot time to a third party. Minecraft Index is not a party to any such arrangement and accepts no responsibility for disputes, losses, or unfulfilled agreements arising from private resale transactions. Any risk from third-party arrangements, including non-delivery or misrepresentation, rests entirely with the individuals involved. Minecraft Index will not mediate or intervene in private resale disputes.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any paid amounts.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy of server status data, or uninterrupted access. Minecraft Index is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft Corporation.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising from use of the Service shall be resolved in accordance with applicable law.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
